Microsoft office 2010

At an event, shortly from now, Microsoft is going to launch the new Microsoft Office 2010 and it isn’t going to be released alone. Accompanying it will be Office Web Applications and the SharePoint 2010 collaborative platform as well.

But big and anticipated products like MS-Office, don’t come in easy, as Microsoft announced that the Web Apps and consumer version of Office 2010 will be released somewhere in June. (But don’t worry, as long as we have enough Seeders and Leechers on Torrent Website(s), you will be enjoying the full benefits of a pirated copy of Office 2010).

Microsoft Office 2010 is pretty similar to Office 2007 and I believe they haven’t made a lot of changes to it. But as compared to 2007 version, the 2010 edition is clean in terms of User Interface, visuals and file management system.

As usual, the new Office 2010 has its own separate set of file extensions and much more. In addition, you will be able to playback videos through your documents because Microsoft Office 2010 gives you the full benefit of embedding videos and making your work look impressive.

Home users can grab Office 2010 for $280 but the Professional Edition is going to cost you $500. On the bright side, some stores are willing to sell the CD key for Office 2010, and you can use it with your downloaded copy of the program.

Finally, like Google, Microsoft also tried to step up with the online documents sharing programs. This time, with Office 2010 Web Apps, you can take your Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote to your browser easily. I don’t get it, why is Microsoft responding to competitors like Zoho and Google after so many years?

Making Office Web Apps free of cost isn’t going to make it any easier for Microsoft to create an alluring image for Office Apps for Web. However, this strategy has puzzled me and also disappointed me as well, because I believe Microsoft has more expertise when it comes to creating software/programs like; Office and Documents. If they’d launched the same thing for internet users years ago, Google and Zoho would have been eating the dust right now…
